Boxes

Decorative box series of works inspired by esotericism, funerary urns, and the body. Boxes were once a common feature in every home, whether to hold important documents, precious items, as decoration, or to hold snuff. This series reimagines the now redundant boxes such as the tea caddy, cigar case, and dowery box into something personified, contemporary, and unsettling, but yet still functional and desirable. Each box is made of wood, and coated in silicone; with some works containing hair, hand drawn sigils, and found ephemera.
